Our solution meets all IDES requirements, i.e.:
- Creating validated XML data file
- Signing and compressing the file
- Encrypting the file
- Creating metadata for file delivery
- Creating transmission file
- File naming conventions
- Validation of notifications
Setup and usage of IDESolution is easy so you should be able to install the solution in your environment without further assistance. A configuration module will help you set up the various runtime settings. Yet, your purchase entitles you to basic installation support by phone.
The purchase of IDESolution includes an installation and user manual plus a certain number of support tickets. If required, additional support tickets may be ordered in packages of five.
Temet and libC will be happy to offer you further options connected to IDESolution such as on-site workshops to setup IDESolution and instruct technicians and business users respectively, as well as hardware RSA key stores or random number generators.

IDESolution is available in two versions: Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition. Additional features will be discussed on customer request (see “Roadmap”).
IDESolution ensures that your XML data is correctly signed, encrypted and packed for transmission; all steps executed are logged for control and audit purposes.
IDESolution Standard Edition handles only one Global Intermediary Identification Number (GIIN), while IDESolution Enterprise Edition supports up to 20 GIINs. On request, IDESolution is available for FIs that need to process more than 20 GIINs.
IDESolution produces XML Digital Signature and Signature Validation according to the W3C XML Digital Signature Specification (http://www.w3.org/TR/xmldsig-core/) including schema validation. It takes care of compressing the digitally signed data file, encrypting it, including certificate chain validation via OCSP or CRL, and naming it as required by IDES. Thus, it produces the sender metadata file and the FATCA data packet for you.
After successful upload, the sender receives a notification message from IRS, delivered by IDES. IDESolution validates this notification message using the same cryptographic mechanisms, thus guaranteeing your FATCA file validity and confirming the success of your FATCA tax reporting process.
Among others, IDESolutions Standard Edition security features include the production of RSA signatures employing any hash function from the SHA family, support for RSA keys in PKCS#12 file format, AES cipher, secure memory locked vectors and secure memory wipe out after usage.
IDESolutions Enterprise Edition, additionally, supports RSA keys on hardware tokens and AES cipher using multi source random number generators (RNGs).
In seven steps IDESolution guides you through the cryptographic processing of your XML data. An easy to use wizard dialog handles the necessary cryptographic material (certificates, keys, signatures) required by the IDES, thus turning your XML data in a ready-to-deliver package accepted by IRS.
In order to use IDESolution successfully, your banking solution must be able to produce FATCA data according to FATCA specifications plus you have to be fully enrolled in the IRS IDES System.
Both editions of IDESolution run on Microsoft Windows 7, 8, Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2
Please make sure that the following packages have been installed:
- Visual C++ redistributable packages for applications built with Visual Studio 2013
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 redistributable package
Both packages are included in IDESolution delivery.
Alternatively, IDESolution works as command line executable for automated processing of XML data.
IDESolution will be maintained and adapted to future requirements.
As of now, the following additional modules are available on request:
- API based integration of IDESolution with OEM software e.g. for tax reporting
- API based integration of IDESolution with HCTA software
- Automation module for efficient handling of 100+ GIIN
The following additional features will be developed on request:
- Support for data delivery to HCTA after treaty request (“Gruppenanfragen”)
- Support for IGA 1A/1B (FI reporting to HCTA according to national standard, please refer to page 14 of the Official IDES User Guide for more information)
- Support for future Common Reporting Standard CRS (OECD AIA)
